Our first fundraising event was a huge success! We raised just over $5,500. A huge thank you to all the restaurants that donated food and to all the individuals and businesses who donated items for our silent auction. We couldn't have done it without your support!
We're excited to announce that GIL has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Capital Region Community Foundation. This grant will help pay student tuition costs. We are extremely grateful for the continued support from the Capital Region Community Foundation. This is the 5th year we've been awarded a grant from them. Thank you, CRCF!
I'm excited to announce that GIL has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the Capital Region Community Foundation. This grant will help pay student tuition costs, supplies and materials for the classroom and graduation expenses. On Tuesday, November 10th, we celebrated our 5th anniversary at GIL. It was a festive occasion where we had student performers, student speaker, and honored our volunteers and community organizations that have supported us for the past 5 years. We are so grateful for the support and compassion of our community!
Our classroom has moved! We are still located in the First Presbyterian Church in downtown Lansing, however, our classroom is now located on the lower level of the building. If you take the elevator to the basement, our classroom is to the right when you step off the elevator. Come check us out!
I'm excited to announce that GIL has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Dart Foundation to purchase laptops for our new classroom. This grant allowed us to purchase 11 laptops, a new printer, a charging/storage cart, and the licenses for Microsoft Office. We are so grateful for the support of the Dart Foundation and are excited to incorporate this new technology into our classroom. Thank you, Dart Foundation!
We are excited to announce that GIL has been awarded a grant in the amount of $7,300 from the Capital Region Community Foundation for the upcoming school year. This is the 3rd year that GIL has been a grant recipient of the CRCF.
On Monday, June 14, we honored and celebrated our 2021 graduates. We held a private ceremony with our graduates' families. Congratulations to our graduates! We are so proud of you and can't wait to see what the future holds for you!
